Dolled up Plush Pin-up

I had the pleasure of modeling for Satu Photography at the beginning of March.  This shoot was styled by the lovely Tracy Broxterman of Domino Dollhouse. Make up was done by Erica Lopez and the hair by Alina Campbell of Salon Pin-Up. The delicious cupcakes were provided by Big Bettie Cakes. In addition, to the making me beautiful team, there were countless others helping the shoot and making everything possible.

Now ladies or gentleman, if you feel like getting pictures done, I highly recommend Satu.  She is a lot of fun to work with and know all the flattering angles.  Her studio is beautiful and she has a plethora of contacts to assist in the beauty making process. (including me as a stylist and one of her make-up artists!)

We all know my obsession with Domino Dollhouse and to have wardrobe be from domino dollhouse was amazing! The Birthday Bash dress was there, the lipsticky skirts, petticoats, and tons of accessories

I ended up wearing the Classic Doll Dress with the red petticoat and Hear no Evil Cardigan. For my jewelry I wore the Minx Ring and Lady Lolita Earrings

The Beautiful Team

I had so much fun! It feels great getting back into modeling and showing you don't need to be a size 2 or in the plus size modeling world a size 10 to rock it!

Jessie J

I am such a dorky fan of Jessie J.  I never get like this.  I take that back, I haven't been like this since my childhood crush on Billy Corgan.  Sooo hot.

But now, Jessie J is here and she has an amazing voice and amazing style.  I am going to post a bunch of pictures of her and a bunch of things I think she should own.  I also made a couple of outfits of hers in plus size options.  For those of you that don't know who Jessie J is, here is her performing live.

Bandeau top: Torrid
Shorts: Torrid
Tights: One Stop Plus
Shirt: Yours Clothing
Shoes: Zappos
To modify and shred a t-shirt there are many different tutorials: here is one:

Dress: Yours Clothing
Tights: One stop Plus
Jacket: Torrid
Shoes: Shop nasty Gal

Betsey Johnson's Fall 2011 fashion show was made for Jessie J.  All the wigs were like Jessie's hair and all the clothes Jessie could rock.  Check it out!

Here are some random images I like and I think Jessie J should have.

Check out jessiejonline.com.  her album drops in the US in April  She is going to be a mega star.  Just wait!

OOTD>all dolled up.

Currently, my favorite store is domino dollhouse.  Yes, I might be biased because I had the opportunity to work with the owner on a photoshoot. (which I can't wait to get the photos so I can blog them) Nevertheless, the clothes are amazing.  I have blogged about the birthday bash dress before and now I am blogging about a cute top I purchased called the pucker up top in back and white.  This top is great because the bust is smocked.  So it virtually stretches to many sizes.  I also bought a pair of torrid moto boots which I haven't blogged yet.  They are so comfortable!! I love finding comfortable, stylish shoes.

Top: Domino Dollhouse
Jacket: Lane Bryant
Skirt, leggings, boots: Torrid

My make-up wasn't as great as I want.  I am not feeling great and I think you can tell.  I used my favorite pink lipstick from MAC called Show Orchid. I started making my own feather earrings and you can kind of see them in these pics.

Please, check out domino dollhouse. It is a great site that offers amazing plus size clothing options.  It isn't all strictly jr. plus either.  they have many cute things in womens sizes up to a 28.  I can't wait to share more of my domino dollhouse treasures with everyone.

Lynda Ray Designs

Hiya! Today I am blogging about a fabulous photographer, Lynda Ray.  I used to plus size model and when I moved to Boston, I stopped modeling.  Now I am back in California, slowly making my way into modeling again. I think it is important for women of my size to model.  The industry standards for plus size models is depressing for a fatty like me.  I can't get that skinny even if I had weight loss surgery, plus I can't grow to be 5'10.  So here I am, barely 5'8, hovering around a size 24-28, and loving modeling and fashion. I am not going to stop doing what I love because of stupidity of the industry.

Lynda Ray is a fabulous photographer to work with.  She is creative and a very hard worker.  The second you get to the studio, a sense of calm comes over you because she makes you feel that way.  Lynda got some great images.  For this shoot, I did the styling, hair, and make-up.  We got to work with some fun lighting and some fun backgrounds!

The first look I wore a tunic that I purchased at Lane Bryant.  Now, I rarely have luck at Lane Bryant, it isn't my first choice in places to go. Lately, I have been really into black and white, with a solid bold print.  Who knows, maybe I am inspired by that song, black and yellow? I wasn't having any luck finding a yellow mini skirt, so I just made an old shirt into one.

Lane Bryant Sweater

The second outfit again was another purchase from Lane bryant (same day) and its this cool asymmetrical sweater.  I love zipper details and the sweater has a cool zipper on it.  The sequin tunic is from Evans (lovedrobe) and I got it around Christmas time.  The booties are from Payless and leggings from Torrid.

Anyways, I hope you like the pictures. Also, lets support the plus size models that are plus size! If you think you should be modeling but know you aren't industry standard, don't let that hold you back.  We need to dominate the plus size fashion world ladies!  Please check out www.lyndaraydesigns.com.  It is a great way to get AWESOME pictures for your book and get the experience behind the camera.
